Our Board Members

Ronald Weber

Chair
Ron is an emeritus professor at Monash University and The University of Queensland. He is a past pro vice-chancellor of Monash South Africa and a past dean of the Faculty of Information Technology at Monash University. Prior to joining Monash University, he worked for 25 years in the Faculty of Business, Economics & Law at The University of Queensland. Ron is a Fellow of the Australian Computer Society, CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia. He has studied and worked in a number of countries including the U.S.A., Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and South Africa.

Fr. Thomas McDonough CP

Board Member
Fr Tom McDonough is the current Provincial Superior of the Holy Spirit Province of the Passionist Congregation. This Province includes Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Vietnam. Fr. McDonough did his initial formation and training at what is now the Yarra Theological Union (University of Divinity) in Melbourne and then further studies in the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium). He held a position as lecturer at the Yarra Theological Union for 15 years. He then moved into parish and pastoral work at a number of parishes in Australia and Papua New Guinea. In 2012, he took up his present role as Provincial.

Fr. David King CP

Board Member
Fr David King cp is a Passionist priest. He joined the Passionist Congregation in 1983. Ordained in 1990 he is Superior of the Passionist Community in Oxley in Brisbane and works across several ministries. His community has been a consistent fund raiser for over 10 years for our Mission in Papua New Guinea, especially Senta Bilong Helpim in Vanimo.

Marie Fox

Board Member
Marie’s career has spanned executive management, project and program development, strategic planning, marketing and communication, income and fund development. Underlying her work has been a strong commitment to excellence and a firm belief in the need to develop and embed positive values across all levels of an organisation.Marie has led a number of organisations including as CEO of Open Minds Australia, CEO of Volunteering NSW and the School of Volunteer Management and Executive Director of the National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (NAPCAN). More recently Marie has been a Senior Consultant to the CEO, Mind Australia and is now consulting to a number of organisations including Wesley Mission Queensland.Marie has served on a number of Boards including Volunteering Australia and NSW Meals on Wheels She is currently a Board member for the Australian Community Workers Association in addition to the Passionist Heart Foundation.

Chris McCabe

Board Member
Chris McCabe and his wife Denise are members of the St Paul of the Cross parish in Glen Osmond, Sth Australia. Chris is a retired school principal serving 15 years in that role at Mercedes College in Adelaide and 11 years at Xavier College in Melbourne.

Dr Bill Sultmann AM

Chair
William (Bill) Sultmann is a teacher, psychologist, practical theologian and leader with senior executive and governance roles in education, health and welfare sectors across Government and Catholic sectors. He has chaired and participated in multiple state and national bodies in welfare and education and consulted nationally and internationally. He has published comprehensively through books, monographs and journals in areas of Special Education, Language and Reading, Interpersonal and Educational Psychology, School Renewal, Christian Leadership, and Catholic School Identity. Qualifications span arts, education, psychology, and leadership with research doctorates in Educational Psychology and Pastoral Theology. He has held Adjunct professorial positions with two universities and fellowships exist within education, management and leadership professional bodies. Current responsibilities include university teaching, professional writing, and community engagement in not-for-profit governance boards. Bill holds the position of Associate Professor and Director of Catholic School Identity and Mission within ACU with responsibilities as Deputy Dean within the La Salle Academy. He is married to Noelene, lives in Noosa Heads, Queensland and delights in the association with his family Clare and Cam Stewart, and grandchildren William, Joseph and Amelia. In 2019 he was honoured in the Queen’s Birthday Honours as a Member of the Order of Australia for ‘significant service to education, and to the community.’

Symon Scott

Secretary
Symon qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse. Following a career in finance and general management roles in the retail property and private golf club industries Symon chose to move into the for purpose sector in 2012. He is currently the business manager for the Passionist Fathers.
